The Minton: Ideas and Renovation – 23 – Tables and Chairs

Funny how sometimes our decisions change about things we thought we were sure of. We’d been intending to get our workroom chairs and barstools at a warehouse called Comfort Design we checked out earlier this year – Ling found them on the web and liked their designs. Upon a return visit to Comfort Design, we ended up picking up anything but those, and instead the dinner table, matching chairs and stools, and the coffee table. While we really liked the Scandinavian styled ash wood dining table from yesterday’s visit to More-Less, we just weren’t ready to risk a situation where we’d be living in our new home without a proper dinner table.

'Paradigm' table in white top with wenge legs, and at S$662. We saw another option we liked - a completely white table with tempered glass top - but we both liked this one more for its color balance against the craftbrick wall just beside it.

The 'Farm chair' in full timber, and cocoa color, and without arm rests. We bought 3 of these at S$89 a piece, and also the 'Mantra armchair' in Wenge at S$277. Yeah; three times as expensive, but I cannot live without my arm rests LOL.

'Tang' wooden stool in cocoa finish. We bought two of these and will be additional seating if we have more than four persons at the table.

The warehouse specializes in chairs and tables, and offers three floors of such, and we did see a couple of workroom chairs and barstool possibilities after a couple of hours of exploration till early afternoon. But Peter was too tired by this point (he’d not napped since morning), so we’ll have to return for a third visit to see about finding and picking up the remaining items.
