New Life – Part 2

Peter was born at 0913 hrs this morning. Definitely a harder exercise this time round compared to Hannah’s turn at it 4 years ago too. The both of us have not slept since arriving at the hospital, and Ling is looking really worn out. She was in labor for more than 7 hours (Hannah took just 4 hours), and there were also more post-delivery issues too. The actual delivery was, thankfully, as brisk before too – just about 10 minutes of ‘pushing’ and out he came. Peter was a healthy 3.34 kg (very slightly lighter than Hannah) and 50 cm tall.

The attending nurses took a look and said Peter looked like Daddy LOL.

Mommy fared somewhat less well than before though, with a lot more vomiting before and after the delivery. Might had been because of the two large slices of chiffon cake she ate last evening!

All thing said, we’re thankful it was still a smooth delivery, and on a relatively clear and haze-free day too; Ling had been dreading having to deliver in haze, especially after the two days last week when the smog reached hazardous levels here.

  1. Congratulations!!! Hannah is a big sister!

May Peter be blessed with good health and wisdom!

  2. Congratulations on the arrival of Peter! What a lovely family the four of you make. Ling I hope you are keeping well – you’ve got your hands full. I’ve just returned to Perth from a three weeks break with my daughter – the haze was bad when I was there, but you guys had it the worst in Singapore. At any rate, what a pleasant surprise to read that you’ve given birth. Hope Peter is well. Blessings to you both. :)

  3. Thanks for your well wishes, Anna :) Starting the crazy breastfeeding cycle again here. Good and bad days as before. But milk supply has improved as compared to Hannah’s time.

Read that the haze in some parts of M’sia was much worse than the already hazardous levels over here a couple of weeks ago. Thank God that Peter was born after the suffocating period. His lungs would be at the most delicate as a newborn.

    Enjoy Perth’s fresh air! :)
