The daughter asked a week before we travelled if we were visiting Snoopy Garden. She had a friend who’d visited in December and recommended the place to her. I was initially unable to find time in the already packed itinerary to visit the place. But as luck would have it today, it rained in the morning, forcing us to drop Jeolmul Natural Recreation Forest from Day 05’s itinerary. And with the cancellation of the Haenyeo diver performance, that further left us with an afternoon to fill. Part of it was spent at the Haenyeo Museum, and Mr. Lee judged that we had just enough time to visit Snoopy Garden. So, we doubled back southwards, and got to the garden at 3:30PM to afford a 90-minute check of the place.
And how do I explain this place; this place is really Mecca for Snoopy lovers! While the son and I aren’t followers of the comic strip characters, the wife used to collect the daily comic strips in newspapers, and the daughter was intrigued by her friend’s photos of the place. There is a multi-level indoor exhibition area, and also a very large outdoor garden that is beautifully landscaped and themed with the many characters, props, and settings of the Snoopy comic strip. The outdoor garden is really beautifully done up, and you can easily spend at least 2-3 hours in the outdoor section alone. The 90 minutes we had just wasn’t quite enough to really cover the whole garden, never mind that towards the end of the time we could spend there, it also started drizzling again.

That’s a wrap for Day 05. Our plan is to hike up Seongsan to catch the morning sunrise. Whether we’re going to be able to wake up at 4:30AM for the expected 5:20AM sunrise is going to be a different story though. More to come soon!
