While researching earlier this year on places to visit in Jeju, I read about a privately owned park situated inside a forest that was popular among locals as a place to take fun photos, so we decided to include that in our tour plan. Sanyang Keunkot is located on the western side of Jeju too, and we went by to check out this fairy-tale-themed forest after lunch. Admission fees are a little on the hefty side, but the walk through the forest was serene and peaceful, with the overhead trees shielding us from the afternoon sun.
There are numerous exhibits along the park trail to take fun pictures, and also a small enclosed area where dozens of very tame rabbits roam, for visitors to interact with and feed. The forest park itself isn’t small, and looking at the park map and the couple of possible trails, one could easily spend at least half a day if you intend to walk every trail. We didn’t have that much time to spend, so with just an hour available, managed to perhaps cover a third of the main trail before we had to turn around and head back.
This is a lovely park, and largely off the list for most large tour groups. Highly recommended!
