Nagoya – Toyota City: Day 02 – Ena Valley

Our second stop was about 50 minutes away from Eihoji Temple: a bridge located in Ena Gorge that crosses over the Kiso River. The bridge isn’t anything particularly different from other similarly styled high bridges over rivers, but it was still a quiet stopover for us to take pictures and have a look at the gorge and water below. There is a small souvenir shop located at this stop point run by an elderly couple, and the shop offers soft-serve ice cream on a cone. The ice cream was a lifesaver on this warm and humid Sunday morning!

This was close to 11AM, and the river below was showing strong turquoise colours.
There’s a small observation platform allowing visitors to get a closer look at the length of the bridge.

We spent just about 30 minutes at the bridge — which was sufficient time — before driving to Magome-juku, about an hour away.
