Day 06 @ Tokyo – Cat Café Mocha Harajuku

The very masculine display of Sumo prowess observed in the early morning, our next place we checked out was a more feline and feminine (?!) one: the Cat Cafe Mocha located in Shinjuku. However, H did a further check just before we made our way there and realized that P was underage for the cafe: the Shinjuku outlet is for Junior High School Students and older. Fortunately, the cafe chain has several outlets, including another semi-nearby in Harajuku that is suitable for ages 6 and up. We pivoted our movement plans there, and got to the cafe at 11AM after a quick detour for breakfast first.

The daughter has gone to cat cafes in Singapore, while the rest of us have not: so at least one of us had some basis on what to expect! From a newbie like me’s perspective though, the cats were all very docile, willing to be touched and very well groomed with silky smooth fur. Pictures below, and of the kind that can possibly make you want to adopt one!

A range of hot and cold beverages is included in the pricing and free-flow.

Next post: continuing onto Shibuya!
