Just before leaving Kawaguchiko today for a relocation to Tokyo for our next segment of this trip, we were treated to an amazing red-sky sunrise. This was at about 6:30AM when we were already up and getting ready for check-out. The last time I saw one of these sunrises was exactly to the day 5 years ago in Cingjing, a sight I blogged about here too. The photos here are about what one would have seen with the naked eye. The red-sky morning lasted for just a few minutes, then faded away.

Our journey back from Kawaguchiko to Tokyo was uneventful: we’d reserved seats for the 8:10AM express bus to Shinjuku Bus Terminal, and upon arrival, we made our way to our Tokyo place of stay: Toggle Hotel Suidobashi Tokyo to drop off our luggage, then headed back to Shinjuku Station to explore a couple of areas: firstly, Shin Okubo, also known as Tokyo’s Koreatown. The daughter was of course over the moon about its inclusion in our itinerary, she being the huge K-pop fan she is! Not much by way of commentary here since I’m not a follower of all things Korean, except for the odd K-drama like Squid Game haha!

Onto Takeshita-dori Street next!
