15 Days in Kanagawa & Hokkaido – Day 09 – Otaru

Otaru is a lovely town, and we’re glad we set aside a full-day to check out the place’s sights. The highlight for the kids again was the copious amount of snowfall, and of the lovely powdery type.

At the bus terminal in front of JR Otaru Station.
Vehicles blanketed in snow.
The obligatory snow footwear picture!
Snow wasn’t too deep so manageable for the kids: up to about 4 inches deep.
Lunch @ Victoria Station done. The kids find every opportunity to interact with snow this trip. Hope to get their fill!
Making our way to Otaru Canal – about a kilometre walk away.
Snow layered at stone walls that line Otaru Canal.
Evening lights have just turned on at Sakaimachi Street.

Day 09’s a wrap. We’re taking it easy tomorrow on Day 10 with a visit to two parks.
