12 Days in Taiwan – Day 09 – Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 Photography @ Tamsui

Towards the last stretch of Tamsui Old Street, the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 + MC-11 came out to play. A couple of pictures taken over the 10 minutes I had before our driver Checo came to pick us up again for our return to Taipei City.

There was a young street violinist with a performer name of “Angel of Violin”. She was playing in front of the quiet alley in front of Tamsui Presbyterian Church, so took a couple of portraiture shots and sent it to her (she has a Facebook page).
There’s a lovely spot near the old street where White Cranes gather and fly about.
As with birds in flight, it can be quite hard trying to predict which one is gonna take off next! It’s a hit and miss thing for me. Light was also also diminishing as it was approaching early evening.
This fellow was perched near the dock. Shots like these are easier, as it’s all composition and waiting for the subject to face the way you want.
I’ve been trying to get pictures using long focal lengths of the kids walking towards the camera but it sure isn’t easy with these two.

That’s a wrap for our Day 09 activities. Our last two full days in Taiwan was free and easy, starting off with a visit to the Maokong Gondola that I’ll be writing about here!
