Bali 2018 – Day 4 – Campuhan Ridge Walk

Day 4 was pretty dense with activities. We’d gone west to Jatiluwih, traveled south to Tanah Lot, then back north-east to the Ubud Monkey Sanctuary – and it was just past 3PM when we’d finished at the Sanctuary – thanks in large part to our driver Dewa Marco’s great driving skills. We’d had a fairly early Brunch at Jatiluwih earlier, so decided to check-out just one more place before retiring to an early dinner. Central Ubud was again seeing very slow-moving traffic, so we dropped our first choice to visit the lotus ponds and gardens near the Ubud Palace, and on Dewa Marco’s recommendations, opted for the Campuhan Ridge Walk.

This trek can be taken uphill or downhill, and goes through some stunningly beautiful forest scenery on both sides of the well-paved route. There are also different start points for the trek if you do the easier version (i.e. downhill). Since we were with kids, we went for the easiest version: we were dropped off about midpoint of the trek, and we did just the stretch that showcases the best hill-top segment of the trek.

Lush scenery all 360 degrees round.
It’s well-paved, so suitable for all ages.
The late afternoon sun and cool weather made this a very pleasant 35 minute walk.
A very tall tree at the topmost spot of the trek.
