The Minton: Ideas and Renovation – 18 – Renovation Day 5

Day 5 of our Minton renovation. Our designer had already informed us earlier on that our electrical work will commence the day before, and true to his word, we saw that many of the power point fixtures had been removed the walls to get ready for relocation during a quick visit to our premise today. Cables have also been laid on the ceiling too. Pictures to tell on the state of progress!

Living Room fixtures. Our TV feature wall and console deck will be installed over these points, so the existing fixtures will be relocated with most hidden inside the console deck compartments.

Hannah/Peter's room, with cable points for their wall lights laid out too. Oddly though, I'd thought that there wouldn't be visible trunking, with the cables buried into the wall surface itself - will have to check this with our designer.

We'll be laying additional CAT6 LAN points into our Workroom, and have also just subscribed to Myrepublic's 1 Gbps data plan. Our electrician earlier mused this would be pretty complicated given the existing data wiring in our place. The puncture holes in the wall I assume are for these additional data cables, one on each side of the room.

Ceiling work on our Workroom. There'll be a false ceiling here, with four LED downlights at each corner of the room (not too far in as we'll be having wall-hung cabinets), and a fan in the center of the room too.

Ceiling work at our Master Bedroom. Five LED downlights here, a fan in the middle, and also tracklights spot lighting our wardrobes just off the right hand side of this picture.

Points for the wall lights in our Master Bedroom. Like our children's room, I'll have to check if trunking is supposed to be visible.

Our yard toilet has been removed in preparation for the washer/dryer stack here, thanks to our designer having obtained approval for it.
