  1. Depends on a lot of factors… the view perspective I’m trying to achieve, the distance between me and subject, and camera orientation (portrait or landscape), and number of images you are shooting to form the composition.

    But usually I tend to go between 30mm to 50mm I think. But it can really vary.

    Actually, the best framing opportunities weren’t on the roof top observatory, but on the deck just below it. The roof top observatory had the safety barriers (not unlike the Duxton roof top as well) that physically block part of your view. The deck below is far better, but you get a lot of light reflections from the ambient lighting behind you.:(
