Lian in Red

Ling used to keep her hair long, but since marriage she’s kept her hair short. She’s been planning to get a hair-cut and to “add a bit of color” to it too at the start of the week, or so she said over the weekend.

As these things go, whenever the Lady of the House redoes her hair, I have to mentally prepare and to remind myself I must not laugh,  must not giggle, must not make funny cracks. Otherwise I’ll have to sleep on the sofa. Anyhow, she had a bit of time on Monday, so headed to her favorite hair-dresser for a snip and whatever the changing hair-color process is called these days. Here’s the new look.:)

Personally, I think there’s too much red in it, somuchso she looks almost like a red-head now. Funnily, she agrees too, and she says she now looks like an Ah Lian. But otherwise, she seems pretty happy with the new look.:)

  1. Well, I like it! Which reminds me that I need to head back to Sri Nada for a quick trim. . . .

  2. Hee hee, thanks Matt. Sigh, i hope that this won’t create a stir in my workplace…

  3. wa! like that can go to school ah???

matt, chris goes to Sri Nada too… USA has Sri Nada??? wow… impressed that they even franchised to USA…

i personally don’t like to colour my hair cos i think it’s too expensive (ok… i am quite giam siap when it comes to this… haha), it will spoil my hair unless i also do treatment (which is also expensive! haha) and when your new hair grows out, got two colours… haha… so got to touch-up (expensive)… ok… but i do spend for a good hair wash and cut la. haha…

u v funky. CY definitely NOTICED the change hor?? LOL

  4. Hee hee, it wasn’t so obvious from far. BTW, my principal also dyed her hair…

My hair dresser’s ‘shop’ is actually SOHO and charged me only $25 for a hair-cut + highlight. She’s not the high end type but suits me just fine as I don’t believe in spending on my hair :)

  5. I only wish we had a Sri Nada in the USA! I miss Singapore so much that I’m just itching for any excuse to go back. :) If only I could afford to go overseas for a haircut, I’d be set.

I visited the Sri Nada shop at Compass Point mall twice during my last stay in Singapore. I even convinced Yang to get his haircut there when I went the last time (though he pretty much had to since his preferred shop downstairs was closed for renovation). I really like the folks there, and the U.S. equivalent barber shop is quickly dying out, having been replaced by overpriced hair salons and beauty shops. Give me Sri Nada any day!

  6. Ling, I think your new hair-do looks good on you. You should have seen Jas in one of her old JC photos. She had yellow, bleached blonde hair then! Right now, it’s back to black with red-tinges and several stands of white (depending on her stress levels).

  7. haha… chris goes to the Sri Nada at COMPASSPOINT too… but they don’t shampoo your hair… tsk tsk tsk… i love to have my hair shampoo-ed.

  8. Thanks, Tchung :D

Speaking of white ‘streaks’, I have my fair share too. Sigh, stressed lah.
