Yahoo just doesn’t agree with WordPress. This is my second attempt at upgrading WordPress, and bleh – things just didn’t want to work properly anymore. The database comprising nearly 380 posts, hundreds of comments etc. didn’t successfully migrate along, and now I have to manually insert each post again from whatever backups and cached posts that were stored.
Update: Well, after nearly 8 hours of intensive labor – bleh – around 244 posts of the original 380 were successfully recovered, and where I could find, comments from visitors too.

Yeah I did see that plugin while reading through the upgrade docs – but didn’t think if it would have worked.
Yahoo isn’t a very good host provider; while the service promises automatic WordPress upgrades server-side, in reality users have to do it manually.:(
