{"id":962,"date":"2008-08-21T19:19:35","date_gmt":"2008-08-21T11:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/?p=962"},"modified":"2008-08-21T19:19:35","modified_gmt":"2008-08-21T11:19:35","slug":"creature-creation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2008\/08\/21\/creature-creation\/","title":{"rendered":"Creature Creation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-963\" style=\"float: right;\" title=\"blog-spore\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/blog-spore.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"114\" height=\"114\" \/>A couple of students and staff (including myself!) from the department were at the Singapore Zoo the other day for a talk given by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Will_Wright_(game_designer)\">Will Wright<\/a>, the very famous game industry person and designer of the upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spore_(2008_video_game)\">Spore<\/a> game. I haven&#8217;t been playing a lot of games since <a href=\"http:\/\/gamingtp.wordpress.com\/game-reviews\/gtaiv\/\">GTA IV<\/a>\u2014the two of us are still struggling to finish the Lego: Indiana Jones that Matt bought us\u2014but Spore has piqued my interest for a while now since it was announced what 3 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>One of the freebie items that was included in the Guest Bag provided by Electronic Arts during the talk was a coupon for the Spore Creature Creator, an appetizer of sorts that&#8217;ll allow you to create your own custom critter.
