{"id":8164,"date":"2010-03-16T08:15:13","date_gmt":"2010-03-16T00:15:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/?p=8164"},"modified":"2010-05-18T11:40:31","modified_gmt":"2010-05-18T03:40:31","slug":"play-yard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2010\/03\/16\/play-yard\/","title":{"rendered":"Play Yard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that Hannah\u2019s easily comfortable with crawling about on all fours and propping herself up to stand, she needs a watchful pair of\u00a0 eyes on her at all times when we set her to play in an open area, e.g. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2010\/01\/27\/baby-at-play\/\">near the coffee table area<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To expedite matters a little, we ordered equipment for a play yard, and set it up in the open space in the living room. These play yards are typically four segments: one for each side of a square \u2013 but Ling went for the jumbo-sized, adding two additional segments to form a large rectangular-shaped play area for Hannah. The area now measures about at least 2.5 meters by 1 meter. It\u2019s large enough for all three of us to get into Hannah\u2019s play pen and have fun with her, and step out if we have to be elsewhere.
