{"id":7969,"date":"2010-02-27T22:54:31","date_gmt":"2010-02-27T14:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2010\/02\/27\/birthday-the-majestic-restaurant\/"},"modified":"2010-02-28T08:24:57","modified_gmt":"2010-02-28T00:24:57","slug":"birthday-the-majestic-restaurant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2010\/02\/27\/birthday-the-majestic-restaurant\/","title":{"rendered":"Birthday @ The Majestic Restaurant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The extended Lentor branch of the Foo clan had our birthday event for my dad at the <a href=\"http:\/\/yum.sg\/?component=view_restaurant&amp;restaurant_id=1207\">Majestic Restaurant<\/a>, located at the newly renovated The New Majestic Hotel along Bukit Pasoh street in a very quiet spot and tucked away from the normal bustle of Shenton Way. The restaurant is headed by an award-winning chef and serves up Cantonese cuisine. According to parents, the restaurant has actually been around since the 1960s, and is quite famous among the older generation.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner was a pleasant affair. The restaurant itself was pretty packed with \u2013 surprise \u2013 mostly Caucasians, but the 13 of us were hosted in a private function room, with the 7 item menu comprising several of the restaurant\u2019s signature dishes \u2013 including its Roasted Spring Chicken marinated with Chinese Wine and Steamed Sea Perch with Sake Sauce.<\/p>\n<p>Hannah was pretty well-behaved for most of the event, though at about midpoint, a mini-crisis took place when she overloaded her diaper with pee while I was carrying her, and it seeped onto the polo-shirt I was wearing LOL.
