Just 30 minutes ago, Hannah was sleeping and I was working on the PC when Ling came into the workroom and said in hushed tone:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cDear, want to take pictures of Hannah? She\u2019s sleeping and hugging her pillow. She looks soooo cute!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll never pass up an opportunity to take pictures of Hannah, so I raced to the dry cabinet, dug out the D300, exchanged and mounted up the Sigma 24-60mm and SB600, tip-toed into her room, composed and took the first shot:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border: 0px;\" title=\"blog-2010-hannah-DSC_6522-pillow-hugging\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/blog2010hannahDSC_6522pillowhugging.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-2010-hannah-DSC_6522-pillow-hugging\" width=\"400\" height=\"602\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s moments like these when you realize how beautiful children are, and the loveliness of God\u2019s creations.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately as blogged here before, Hannah\u2019s a light sleeper like me. As soon as she heard the shuttle curtain clicks, she opened her eyes, propped herself up:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border: 0px;\" title=\"blog-2010-hannah-DSC_6526-woken\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/blog2010hannahDSC_6526woken.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-2010-hannah-DSC_6526-woken\" width=\"400\" height=\"602\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At this point, Ling and I exchanged looks that said it all: \u201cOh sh*t. Tolong\u2026 die liao. Maybe she\u2019ll go back to sleep!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No such luck, because as soon as she got up, Hannah brought down the house with some of the loudest wailing we\u2019ve heard in a while. You can\u2019t hear it in a blog post, but you can see the evidence!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border: 0px;\" title=\"blog-2010-hannah-DSC_6527-crying\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/blog2010hannahDSC_6527crying.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-2010-hannah-DSC_6527-crying\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Before you think we\u2019ve got our priorities messed up by taking pictures of her instead of pacifying her \u2013 immediately after taking this picture above, I carried then soothed Hannah back to a state of calm (though not before she deposited her mucus and tears all on my shoulder). I figured that if we\u2019re going to even get any sort of mileage out of this encounter, at least there\u2019ll be pictures! :)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comical situations occasionally come up at home.
