{"id":7301,"date":"2009-12-17T21:23:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-17T13:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2009\/12\/17\/oishi-and-snow\/"},"modified":"2010-12-29T21:46:21","modified_gmt":"2010-12-29T13:46:21","slug":"oishi-and-snow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2009\/12\/17\/oishi-and-snow\/","title":{"rendered":"Oishi\u2026 and snow\u2026?!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There were ten of us at the dinner event hosted by the staff of the college; five Japanese, and five Singaporeans, four of us who are guest lecturing in various subjects and disciplines at the college this week, with several Japanese guests coming from other parts of Japan who came to listen to our presentations today.<\/p>\n<p>Our Japanese hosts brought us to this Hiraki Healthy Kitchen restaurant, a quiet restaurant about 15 minutes drive from the college, and dinner was buffet styled with a variety of Japanese cuisine, most items of which I could recognize from my stay here for the last 6 days but don\u2019t know the English terms yet. I was too tired anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Now for the bad news.
