{"id":5805,"date":"2009-09-18T06:03:10","date_gmt":"2009-09-17T22:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/?p=5805"},"modified":"2017-03-05T16:36:33","modified_gmt":"2017-03-05T08:36:33","slug":"pictures-from-the-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2009\/09\/18\/pictures-from-the-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Pictures from the Weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ling was asking the other night why a series of photos I took over the weekend at home haven\u2019t been put up on our blog here nor the Flickr album we&#8217;ve got.<\/p>\n<p>Answer: I\u2019ve been sitting on them! Half of the posts I\u2019m doing these days is on <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/category\/baby-blues\/\">Hannah<\/a>. The remaining half is split between <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/category\/photography-cameras\/\">photography<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/category\/entertainment\/\">entertainment<\/a>, and a fraction of that remainder still on <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/category\/news-letters\/\">News &amp; Letters<\/a>. I try to spread out posts across topics, and of late try not to turn our blog here into a dominantly baby one.<\/p>\n<p>The funniest thing though is that the <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/category\/baby-blues\/\">Baby Blues<\/a> posts are the easiest for me to do. They\u2019re centered on Hannah, and unlikely to offend anyone \u2013 and I have a window of at least 10 years before Hannah gains the necessary language skills to comprehend my posts on her LOL. The <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/category\/entertainment\/\">entertainment<\/a> posts are critical and by necessity at least semi-analytical. Those require brain power, though they\u2019re enjoyable to write as I like drawing relationships between a film I\u2019ve just watched to films I\u2019ve seen already.<\/p>\n<p>The hardest to do by far are the <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/category\/news-letters\/\">News &amp; Letters<\/a> ones, since I\u2019m writing on something that\u2019s current + this blog is Google-able. The days in which I could derive some entertainment value by engaging in online wars are long gone past me. These days, when I post something on current affairs up, I restrain myself not because I\u2019m afraid of engagement when someone disagrees. I\u2019m just tired of it and don\u2019t see the point unless it\u2019s with someone I know in person and whom I can trust to state his or her case politely. I post and write for fun and because writing invigorates me, not to fight with someone I don&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n<p>So, with that out of the way, here\u2019s the first selection of pictures taken over the weekend at home:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border: 0px;\" title=\"blog-hannah-01\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/bloghannah01.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-hannah-01\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border: 0px;\" title=\"blog-hannah-02\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/bloghannah02.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-hannah-02\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border: 0px;\" title=\"blog-hannah-03\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/bloghannah03.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-hannah-03\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I took these using the Sigma 24-60mm f2.8 lens, with the late 10:30 AM morning sun shining very partially through the curtains. I didn\u2019t use the flash, and there\u2019s some very mild camera shake.
