\"\"It’s a scary thing, this eBay business. Because once you get into it, you’ll face an absolutely humongous range of things within easy reach, and temptation is very high to start looking for all sorts of toys and gadgets to supplement one’s photographic arsenal.<\/p>\n

I used to have an eBay account during my early MMORPG days in Ultima Online, which makes it circa 1997. Yeah, I bought online gold once before, which still leaves me with mixed feelings as purchase of virtual gold indirectly fuels a type of behavior that many MMORPG players intensely dislike. But that’s for another story to tell some other time. For the time being, after leaving my eBay account dormant for more than a decade, I recently got back into it and was astonished to see how different it looks today.<\/p>\n

As remarked in the earlier entry, I was on the look for a better camera strap. The D300 one gets uncomfortable because of the woven material used. The Rapid Strap below is very nice of course, but way too expensive. A lot of photographer enthusaists swear by the Op\/Tech<\/a> straps, with a couple of fellows even buying one strap for each camera body they own.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Op\/Tech straps were a lot cheaper than the Rapid straps. They’re still of the same conventional design as the normal neck-worn straps, though these also come with quick detachable connectors. I checked with Mscolor, and they quoted SGD35. Reasonable enough, but they didn’t have the color I preferred. So, it was off on eBay, and 10 minutes later, I found the Pro Loop<\/a> strap in Red, and a couple of clicks later, all done and at a lower price of SGD31 too. The photo here is from the manufacturer which I’ll replace when the item actually arrives a week from now.<\/p>\n
