It could be a guy thing, but several male colleagues at work when commenting about having babies all get straight to the point: \u201cWait till you get to all the sleepless nights!\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the funny thing: I\u2019ve been sleeping pretty soundly since Hannah was born. Maybe it\u2019s because I\u2019m doggone tired every night when I\u2019m back from work \u2013 that the house could be on fire, and I\u2019ll still be muttering half-asleep \u201cFive more minutes!\u201d<\/p>\n

Or that when Hannah needs a feed, Ling has mastered the art of slipping out of bed like a ninja without waking me up. Or that we were mentally expecting Hannah to be bawling all night long every night.<\/p>\n

But Hannah has been anything but such. She typically will give advance notice before bawling. She\u2019ll fidget in her cot first for a couple of minutes. Then she\u2019ll squeak a little \u2013 and Ling and our confinement nanny will be instantly up haha. Maybe Hannah\u2019s very mild cries for attention are simultaneously sending brain waves to the two.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s Ling though who looks a little zombified. Hannah wants to be fed every 2-3 hours, and occasionally will ask for \u2018snacks\u2019 in-between. And that\u2019s not counting the times every day Hannah will ask for \u2018comfort sucking\u2019 too LOL.<\/p>\n

Ling says she\u2019s lost all track of time and can\u2019t tell which day it is anymore. So one mission I\u2019ve got right now is to try getting her to do things outside her job of being a cow. Like taking an hour or two every night for couple time i.e. vegetating in front of the TV with Everybody Loves Raymond. <\/em><\/p>\n

But it\u2019s all worth it. Though mum says at this age she\u2019s still \u2018meng meng cha cha\u2019 and very \u2018gong\u2019 \u2013 i.e. blur like a sotong, Hannah has began to smile and seemingly become just a little more cognizant of the surroundings.:)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
