The weather was looking really gloomy at 5PM when we left Hallim Park, and it was drizzling on and off. Still, we braved the weather and drove the very short 2-minute distance from Hallim Park to Hyeopjae Beach<\/strong>. The beach is widely regarded as one of the most attractive beaches on the island, with its shallow turquoise water contrasting with pale sand and dark volcanic rock. The island of Biyangdo can also be seen on the horizon, as well as a wind turbine farm some distance offshore.<\/p>\n

We didn’t stay long at the beach as it started to drizzle again. After a quick dinner at Mom’s Touch and once the rain had subsided, we next drove for several minutes to Aewol Caf\u00e9 Street<\/strong>. The street is actually a short coastal walk overlooking the volcanic rocks, with a number of caf\u00e9s lining the coast. There are perhaps half a dozen cafes, each offering its own unique styling and vantage views – including the Haejigae Cafe, with its unmatched view of the coast and sea from the second floor.<\/p>\n

The cafe we eventually settled on was good old Starbucks – in a three-floor outlet<\/a> that was a short 1-minute drive away from Aewol Cafe Street, and newly constructed too.<\/p>\n

That’s a wrap for Day 07. The cancellation of today’s firefly sighting tour was pretty disappointing, but it was what it was. It took us another 45-minute drive from Aewol back to our hotel in Jeju City. We’d need to figure out what to do for the last two days, since we’d already covered a number of places we’d listed in the itinerary LOL.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
