The rain had somewhat subsided by the time we left Manjanggul Cave, though it still continued to look generally cloudy. We drove northwards and then eastwards along a coastal road to check out Woljeongri Beach<\/strong>. This beach is a small but scenic stretch of coastline on the eastern side of the island. The most popular section of the beach is perhaps just maybe 200m across, and saw plenty of activity even this gloomy Wednesday today, with visitors enjoying the sea breeze, posing for vanity photos, and even surfing. This side of the island also sees a number of wind turbines, including several that are situated offshore – very unusual!<\/p>\n

The beach sand is pretty white and relatively clean. But the weather was gloomy this afternoon, and the rain looked like it was just about to return.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There are a number of cafes and restaurants facing the busy section of Woljeongri Beach, but – interestingly – the sections of the coastal road before and after this stretch had numerous leisure accommodations and also F&B outlets, but all looked quite dilapidated or shuttered.<\/p>\n
