The wife has an ex-colleague friend who’d is also visiting Jeju this period and several days ahead of us. One place she visited was Yongmeori Coast<\/strong>, that we also visited today. The coast is particularly known for its layered cliffs formed from ancient volcanic ash deposits. Over likely decades if not hundreds of years, wind and waves have gradually carved the rock into intricate ridges and folds. At times the sea becomes rough and the coastal path may close temporarily. But Mr. Lee had checked ahead, and informed that the coast was opened for visitors today, and we – along hundreds of other tourists as this was clearly an extremely popular place, walked along the base of the cliffs to see the formations up close. The textures and patterns in the rock are quite striking and shows how salt water has eroded stone into these wavy patterns.<\/p>\n

The wife remarked that we were lucky to have visited at the time we did – i.e. low tide, and pretty good weather.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
