We stayed four nights at the Citadines South Chengdu<\/strong>, a serviced apartment block that’s south of the city center and about 30 minutes away by car. Our comments!<\/p>\n

The block is 24 floors, with our apartment located on the 22nd floor. The 23rd floor is the dining area where we had our morning breakfasts, and we’re not quite sure what the 24th floor is \u2014 except that it’s probably not guest residential. The unit we stayed in was a 2 bedroom Executive Suite and occupied 128m\u00b2. Both bedrooms are on opposite sides of the unit, with a kitchen, dining and living area occupying the center. There are two shower\/toilet areas, one of which is ensuite to the main bedroom, and the other is a common one that is just outside the second bedroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bedrooms are big: each had a queen-size bed, a full-sized work table, TV, and still plenty of space for luggage, walking around, and the like. The kitchen was full-featured too, with a laundry + dryer machine, a decent-sized fridge, kitchen sinks, cutlery and utensils, etc. The unit’s high floor also meant that we had a good view of the traffic and roads below, and we grew accustomed to the daily honking from 8:30AM onwards as people made their way to work, and the throngs of locals on the wide pedestrian sidewalks likewise.<\/p>\n

The apartment block is located in an area that has the usual range of establishments: we never walked that far around the area, but within a 5 minute walk in any direction, there are probably 4\u20135 convenience stores (including Lawson’s), Chagee and ChaPanda and Luckin’ Coffee outlets, McDonald’s, and several dozen restaurants that whip up local fare. We didn’t have the time to try everything, of course, but the mutton soup restaurant just opposite the apartment block put out dishes that we really enjoyed and were priced very affordably too.<\/p>\n

There is daily room cleaning as well, though you’d need to ensure that you’ve put out the cleaning request at your door for that to happen. Breakfast was so-so by normal international hotel standards, but compared to hotel breakfasts we’ve had this trip, it was probably the best, relatively speaking: the spread was decent, and there were western-styled items in the morning breakfasts.<\/p>\n

In all, we all really liked this establishment, even if the size of the property also meant that it doesn’t have the homely warmth that we enjoyed in a few other places earlier on this trip. Nonetheless, if you’re traveling with kids, like lots of space in your stay, and are looking for a modern unit with the amenities that you’re used to from home, then this is a place we recommend!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
