The other Jason Statham movie to arrive together with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/2009\/05\/08\/showing-at-a-local-home-cinema-%e2%80%93-part-13\/\">In the Name of the King<\/a><\/em> was the third movie in a series that sees Statham as former SEAL operative turned karate death-dealing expert who drives packages around as a glorified delivery guy.<\/p>\n<p>Truth to tell, the series is fun. The stories typically revolve around Frank,\u00a0 Statham\u2019s character, who is engaged \u2013 usually against his better judgment or will \u2013 to deliver his cargo to a location or a person. Along the way, there\u2019re baddies who\u2019ll try to stop him in typically well choreographed fight scenes that\u2019ll showcase Statham\u2019s fighting skills and eight-pecs. In other words, you watch the Transporter movies for its action \u2013 no more, no less.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle chase scenes are also big events in the Transporter movies, and they\u2019re always exhilarating. There\u2019s a scene where Frank chases a vehicle through narrow roads and factories after\u2026 on a <em>bicycle<\/em>. That was a lot of fun! And another scene that I haven\u2019t seen before in films: he drives a car that runs along the length of the <em>roof <\/em>of a train LOL.<\/p>\n<p>So, one doesn\u2019t watch these films for their stories or their characters. It\u2019s for the dumb action, and on this score (and alone) I\u2019ll rate the film a watchable\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/star.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/star.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/star.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/blankstar.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/blankstar.gif\" alt=\"\" \/>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Transporter 3 (2008).
