After the very informative but also sobering visit to the DMZ, our visit to the Gamaksan Suspension Bridge<\/strong> felt like filler! The bridge is about 30 minutes outside the DMZ, and was opened in 2018. The bridge is 220 meters long, 10 meters above ground, and is apparently the longest suspension bridge in South Korea. To get to the bridge itself, visitors need to do a short hike and climb that involves steps and also semi-gentle slopes. It’s a bit of a workout, but thankfully just 10 minutes and thus doable.<\/p>\n

The bridge is just 30 minutes by tour bus from the Unification village where we had that heavy buffet lunch. Just enough time that we didn’t throw up our lunch from the climb!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The bridge does look impressive. As suspension bridges do, this one will shake if you have a lot of people on it and doing anything but walking in the most gingerly fashion!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
