The initial plan after the Skyline Luge activity was for us to ride the Haeundae Blueline Park cars: but we made a mistake: these car rides are not included in the Busan Visitor Pass. Rather, a different ride was, involving a traditional type of train. We decided to drop the item from the itinerary altogether, since riding on a normal train didn’t sound particularly interesting. And after lunch at McDonald’s\u2014it’s a family tradition for us to sample each country’s McDonald’s haha\u2014we went up Haeundae LCT Landmark Tower to the Busan X the Sky<\/strong> observatory. This observatory occupies the 98th to 100th floors of the tower\u2014apparently the second highest skyscraper in South Korea\u2014and affords incredible sights of the surrounding area, including Busan city, with Haeundae Beach and Gwangan Beach in the far distance. There is also a Dal.komm cafe and also Starbucks on these floors for folks to get their coffee fix while enjoying sights of the city below.<\/p>\n

There is also a small walkway whose floor is transparent, permitting visitors to take a good look at the ground level from 411 meters above. It’s technically safe of course, but for those of us who’re terrified of heights, you will absolutely not want to look down over the short 4-meter walkway!<\/p>\n

The pictures here were taken on the Samsung S24 Ultra, and the phone camera did a marvelous job churning out usable pictures that needed very little further processing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The 100th floor has several window supports that can obstruct photo-taking. Also, take note there’s a physical barrier that prevents you from going right against the window panes for cleaner pictures.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This was taken on the 99th floor where the restaurant is. There’s a little area there where you can go right up to the window for pictures. The sun was to our right, and reflections were minimal.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Pro-tip<\/strong>: we visited at about noon-time, and while it was bright and sunny, the noon-time sun cast very strong reflections and glare\u2014making it very hard to get good pictures of the views. Fortunately, the reflections were muted on the 98th floor, and most of the pictures I’ve posted below were taken on that floor.<\/p>\n
