During our 2019 visit to Tokyo, we visited just one winter illumination spot in the city. This trip, we made a more conscious effort to find out where the winter illumination light-ups were and populated our evening itinerary with as many spots as possible. The first we visited was at Tokyo Dome City, which is just a short 5 minute walk from our hotel. Tokyo Dome City<\/strong> is a huge complex that houses the Tokyo Dome indoor sports stadium, various retail and dining establishments, and the LaQua shopping mall. The place also isn’t nearly as congested as the other popular retail and commercial areas of Tokyo, so we were able to easily find a table at Ippudo Ramen – the kids were craving their first ramen in Japan – then spent the evening exploring the area and also visiting the winter light-up spot.<\/p>\n
