It\u2019s just so easy to use Google Maps to find good places to eat these days. One literally just searches \u2018good food near me\u2019, and you\u2019d get a number of dining establishments show up on Maps right away. That\u2019s basically how we found Sogawa Base<\/strong>, a contemporary foodcourt that\u2019s near the Toyama Glass Art Museum. The foodcourt has a number of individual stalls that offer a wide variety of cuisine: including Japanese pizza, South Indian, and pastas. We settled for Indian, even though we had just had fabulous Indian at Aashirwad @ Naga-machi<\/a> two days earlier. And what followed was a mountain of food that we struggled to finish:<\/p>\n

Three naan sets, and additional curry with more naans, a plate of BBQ chicken wings, and Japanese pizza!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The naan sets aren\u2019t anything like what we get at home: the naans are much bigger, and the curry servings are more generous. A single naan set like these is more than enough to feed an adult. And the dining staff came to check on us a few times: imagine, a shared dining place which does that!<\/p>\n

Lunch settled, we continued onward to make our way to Kansui Park, and the popular Starbucks joint there.<\/p>\n

The Starbucks cafe sits in its own small building that overlooks the pond. It looks mighty impressive in pictures, but those were taken in summer. In winter, it\u2019s harder to make out the distinctive features of the park. The cafe offers outdoor seating, and it was oh-so-romantic for the wife and me to sip our Matcha lattes before we ducked back inside as it got quite cold outside!<\/p>\n

We decided to give the last place a miss – the Toyama Tower Observatory – as we were mindful that we wanted to return to Kanazawa to pack for the last segment of our trip: relocation to Takayama.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
