\"blog-bowling-DSC_7287\" Every half a year, my department goes out to do something fun. OK, that doesn\u2019t mean what we do on a daily basis isn\u2019t enjoyable \u2013 we\u2019re in the game development department already \u2013 but the fun here is to get out of campus and do something different.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve had board game afternoons and archery shoots. So this time round, our department \u2018morale officer\u2019 (haha!) arranged for a bowling outing at SAFRA Tampines.<\/p>\n

Now this was my first time bowling, and I was pretty sure of two things. Firstly, I\u2019d be a longkang (drain) sweeper. Secondly, I\u2019d hate the whole experience.<\/p>\n

Well, one of two predictions coming true isn\u2019t too bad. I was a longkang sweeper, but the experience was, surprisingly, enormously fun!<\/p>\n

OK, so I had absolutely no methodology or clue on the proper way to bowl. But it was fun to play in such utter ignorance, and it helped that short of a few persons in my department, most of us were equally as noob.<\/p>\n

But there were plenty of camaraderie, laughter and jokes which made even all the bowling foul-ups laugh riots even.<\/p>\n

Like the picture below which was perhaps my singular moment of glory:<\/p>\n

Yep, I operate only in binary mode \u2013 either \u2018one\u2019 or \u2018zero\u2019. A colleague quipped charitably, \u201cChek Yang abstained for two rounds\u201d LOL.<\/p>\n
