A third place of interest is the old Fukuoka Castle Ruins<\/strong>. The starting point of the park where the ruins are located \u2014 Maizuru Park \u2014 is about 6 minutes away from Ohori Park and an easy walk, but there’s a gentle climb up to get to the castle ruins themselves. Nothing too difficult, though the pathway is laden with cobblestones, with a sign that warns visitors to be extra careful during wet weather. There isn’t much to see in the ruins themselves, but if you make your way to the top, you’d get a decent enough 360-degree view of Fukuoka city, though the foreground is partially obstructed by the flora in Ohori and Maizuru parks.<\/p>\n

Still, the spot again is congestion-free, and there is no admission charge too. So, if you’re in the vicinity, why not. :)<\/p>\n

Summary<\/strong>: An easy walk from Ohori Park to the starting point, but beyond that there are some gentle slopes to go up, followed by stairs. If you’re in the vicinity and have about 30 minutes to spare, you can check it out and be treated to a view of the city. But even if not, you won’t be missing too much.<\/p>\n
