In addition, the water level was just up to an adult’s waist level, so we adults could try the experience this time sans life vests.

What should have been just perfect weather – we stepped off in bright sunny weather – suddenly turned overcast, and by the time we were all in the water, it rained! The waters got pretty choppy and the wife was a little fearful for the kids. Sameer assured us that we’d be fine and encouraged us to keep going: and as it turned out, the rain died off in just a few minutes, the clouds cleared thereafter, and the sea was calm again. Though not before both of us parents were honestly pretty nervous!

Like yesterday, most of the corals were dead, but there were a few live ones here and there. There was quite a bit of marine life even then. We didn’t see schools of fishes this time, but we did catch a large sea turtle casually swimming about. Being able to swim with the turtle alone made this trip super worth it again.

A quick edit and collation of three GoPro 7 clips of the turtle!

Continued in the next post!

Our guesthouse host Sameer really took on board how we fared for our maiden snorkeling outing yesterday morning, and planned something simpler this time: a house reef just off Huraa about 300 meters from the shoreline and thus just 4

Read More 10 Days in Maldives – Day 03 – Snorkeling #2

[17
657,653
post-29379","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-traveling","tag-gopro-7","tag-maldives-2019","wpcat-17-id
["GET
