There are apparently several places named ‘Carton King<\/strong>‘ on the island. It seems like a chain with several store outlets around the island. The one we visited was a 25-minute drive away and located in the Beitun District, and it was approaching noon by the time we reached the place. The Sunday crowds made finding a parking bay difficult, so Kong dropped us off first, then continued further on to find a spot for his cab. Admission is NTD200\/SGD8.90 per person, and kids who are taller than 1 meter \u2014 and Peter was \u2014 will have to pay the normal admission fee too. Still, part of the admission fee can be used as vouchers for food and drink, I think. Though as we were heading to a better lunch place after this spot, we never got to use those vouchers.<\/p>\n

What’s so unique about this place? Well, this little park is filled with paper products \u2014 whether they are seats, furniture, toys, utensils, etc. Exactly the kind of thing that will be fascinating for kids. I can’t speak for the other Carton King outlets of course, but this particular park isn’t very big and you wouldn’t take more than two hours to explore every nook and cranny. It’s still pretty dense with a number of things to see and try out: including a souvenir\/museum-type shop with a huge number of very interesting paper crafts, two very fun children’s slides, a little rail ride around the compound where kids can sit in carton boxes (LOL), a guinea pig house, a restaurant, and several other paper replicas of famous structures \u2014 including the Eiffel Tower, Taipei 101, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Big Ben. The admission ticket also has eight boxes for kids to run around the place to get chops of stamps \u2014 in exchange for something when they’re done (we didn’t stay long enough to complete it!).<\/p>\n
