It’d been a fairly long day already and though this time would be just considered late afternoon back at home, it was really early night in the city. Rather than return to the apartment and for us to walk the 10 minutes again to find dinner, we had Kong drop us off at Feng Chia Night Market to explore the area again and get food. This was right smack in Saturday evening, so lots of people about — though everyone was polite enough to make way when necessary, and there was no shoving or pushing. The Taiwanese are really polite and really do mind their manners in public spaces, in relative comparison to Hong Kongers and mainland Chinese.

The night market — Feng Chia being this one — is always popular with both tourists and locals alike, and the colorful signboards make for pretty pictures.
