Most of the first two-thirds of the nine day itinerary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2018\/03\/27\/bali-2018-itinerary-preparations\/\">was fixed earlier on<\/a>. As for the final third, we were initially waiting to see how things work out in the first few days before deciding what to do in the last stretch &#8211; just so we have some flexibility in the itinerary. But in the last week, we decided to go with cultural immersion activities in the Ubud area by booking workshops and short guided trips with locals in the Ubud.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what it looks like now (clickable for a larger version):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/blog-bali-itinerary-2018-06-01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26670 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/blog-bali-itinerary-2018-06-01-1024x585.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/blog-bali-itinerary-2018-06-01-1024x585.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/blog-bali-itinerary-2018-06-01-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/blog-bali-itinerary-2018-06-01-768x439.png 768w, https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/blog-bali-itinerary-2018-06-01.png 1231w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the key changes and new inclusions:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Moving our visit to the <strong>Waterbom Bali<\/strong> theme park from Day 6 to Day 2 so that there&#8217;s less traveling from the morning to the afternoon activities in Kuta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Day 2: Dropping <strong>Bounce Bali<\/strong>, as the Sunday discounted rates were no longer available altogether. We&#8217;ll still keeping that in view though in case another weekday opening comes up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Day 6: Adding the <strong>Bali Zoo\/Breakfast with Orang Utans<\/strong> &#8211; something new for the kids to enjoy since they haven&#8217;t yet done the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrs.com.sg\/en\/singapore-zoo\/explore-singapore-zoo\/dine-and-shop.html\">Singapore Zoo equivalent<\/a> yet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Day 7: Adding a <strong>Balinese Cooking experience<\/strong>. This one&#8217;s really interesting, as it includes shopping for fresh produce in the market before that too. And for the afternoon, a <strong>Silver Jewellery-making<\/strong> workshop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Day 8: Adding a <strong>Photography tour <\/strong>with a New Zealand-born photographer currently based in Bali for me &#8211; this one starts at a terrifically early 5AM. And in the afternoon, another <strong>Walking Tour<\/strong> with a local guide for us.<\/p>\n<p>The airport to villa transfer has been booked &#8211; the villa is apparently nestled in a fairly quiet and secluded part of Ubud &#8211; alongside our appointed driver, Dewa Marco, for a number of days. Even with this, we still have two small segments on Days 5 and 6 afternoons to fill-up.
