In the last 10 years, my exposure to physical training and activity has been limited to jogging, swimming, and all those training sessions in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mindef.gov.sg\/imindef\/mindef_websites\/topics\/nsmen\/admin\/Individual_Physical_Proficiency_Test_IPPT.html\">IPT program<\/a> in order to fulfill my yearly NS IPPT obligation LOL.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s been a couple of sports games I\u2019ve taken to on the PS3, so here\u2019s the first in the series of \u2018virtual\u2019 sports I\u2019ve been getting into. Starting off with, well, golf.:)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: inline; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" title=\"blog-golf-02\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/bloggolf02.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-golf-02\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The above is from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tiger_Woods_PGA_Tour_09\">Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09<\/a>. No, I haven\u2019t got a clue what golfing is about prior to my getting introduced via these games, nor Tiger Woods is apart from that he keeps showing up in those expensive watch commercials. But after getting inducted, I now have an inkling what words like double and triple bogeys, \u2018par\u2019, and \u2018birdie\u2019 mean. And I finally know what\u2019s the difference between irons and putters!<\/p>\n<p>And the other golfing game I tried my hand on was <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Everybody%27s_Golf_5\">Everybody\u2019s Golf 5<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: inline; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" title=\"blog-golf-01\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/bloggolf01.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"blog-golf-01\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" \/><\/p>\n<p>No kidding\u2026 the entire thing is very Japanese cute-anime character-esque! Think, girly voices as though they\u2019re sucking helium. Ling saw me having a go at this game the other night and she remarked \u201cWah darling. This game is so\u2026 Gina..!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And she\u2019s right on that. No way I\u2019m ever gonna be caught dead outside home playing this LOL. The visuals are beautiful, colorfully vibrant if in a cartoony sort of way, and from what I\u2019ve gathered, the golf physics and mechanisms are pretty in-depth. Heck, Matt says that Everybody\u2019s Golf is the game he plays a lot of LOL.<\/p>\n<p>That said, I\u2019ve only been playing the short demo versions, but fortunately both games are available on retail here in Singapore at pretty attractive price-points. So who knows: once I\u2019m tired of shooting terrorists in <a href=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/2009\/01\/26\/on-your-six-boss\/\">Rainbow Six Vegas<\/a>, I\u2019ll pick either one of these up for the full experience.:)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m not a sporty person.
