Picture-heavy post, as after the Cheeky Monkey Brewery & Cidery lunch stopover, we checked out four other places in succession. The third stop for the day was 8 minutes away along Harmans Mill Road – the Margaret River Chocolate Company<\/strong>, established 1999, maker of premium chocolates and winner of several awards for it as the advertising info goes. You can’t miss this place given its fairly large carpark along the main road. The shop and cafeteria was pretty busy in the early afternoon, and there were – again – a lot of Singaporean families. Guess the June holiday season is when Singaporeans run away from the island’s humidity and heat and descend on Australia LOL.<\/p>\n

The place is setup and run very much like the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery<\/a> we visited in Melbourne last year and a tad business-like, though the cafeteria was apparently quite popular with families for their affordable eats. We didn’t spend much time there as we have a general aversion to crowds for this holiday, so headed out after spending all of 15 minutes there.<\/p>\n

Next stop and just 2 minutes away along the same road is the much quieter Margaret River Nuts & Cereals<\/strong>. We were the only visitors to the little shop that’s neatly tucked inside a small road leading inside, and it’s easy to miss from the main road. Time to stock up on a variety of Macadamia <\/span>and other assorted nut types!<\/p>\n

Every place we’ve visited today has their own playground. Areas to keep the kids occupied while the adults take their time to shop?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Next stop was Rotary Park<\/strong> along Bussell Highway. We headed back in the general direction of the town center, and 15 minutes later, got to the mid-sized children’s playground. Perfect place for the kids to burn off their excess energy while we checked out Google Maps to see where next to visit. There is also a heritage trail that starts here, though we didn’t give that a try as at about the time we were about to leave, dark clouds gathered in what look like oncoming rain.<\/p>\n

Next stop was 7 minutes away and continuing on Bussell Highway – Temper Temper Fine Chocolates<\/strong> along Rosa Brook road (but the place really is just along the Highway). This was a much quieter established than the crowded MR Chocolate Company. The rain kicked in at about this time after a week long dry-spell in the areas we’ve been visiting – which was a signal to Ling that we should spend more time here i.e. for cuppas!<\/p>\n

We stayed in the shop for just over 30 minutes, and the rain only got heavier. Though this was only about mid-afternoon, the downpour seemed like our cue to head back to the farm for a short break before exploring dinner options.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
