Interestingly, like the last week, things at our Minton renovation went by very quickly in the first half of the week only to go back into lull in the latter half. The first and base coat of paint were laid by the end of Wednesday, but no progress was observable thereafter. Not that we’re complaining, since the project is still on schedule. We did get more shopping for furnishing done though.<\/p>\n

Pictures as always. The first couple are our progress as of Day 15 – two weeks after our renovation started.<\/p>\n

One of our rooms has been converted into a temporary storage room for lighting, fans, and other kitchen\/bathroom accessories – all to be fitted starting this coming Monday. There are LED lights, T5 tubes, track lights, Crestar and Fanco fans, Ikea photo frames and simple shelves, and a door bell LOL.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We did observe one new defect earlier this week, and our ever-helpful defect team CSO cheerfully added it into the very short list of outstanding things to fix. Workers came by in the afternoon to do just that – a quick 10 minute fix where a new door guide was installed into the floor (the guide stops the very heavy glass door from wobbling too much).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We returned to both Ikea and Comfort Design too this afternoon to find a few more furnishing items. Ling liked the Ribba range of photo frame shelves she saw at Ikea from previous visits, and planned for a couple of these to be installed into the foyer of our Living Hall. The picture here is a rough match against our the color of our wall at the Living Hall feature wall even. Ling couldn’t quite decide whether to go with black or white colored shelves though. I thought black looks better, and I fear that white will not be white for very long for Ikea-type shelves.<\/p>\n

We decided on fabric and mesh-netting type of chairs too, and picked up three of them for our work room. These chairs are originally fitted with rollers. We were looking specifically for chairs that aren’t on rollers, so were delighted to learn that the store will swap rollers with normal rubber foot stops for additional costs. The below cost $140 with an additional $25 for the feet swap.<\/p>\n
