We spent a good part of our weekend at The Minton checking on the state of defect rectification – it’s in its third week now – and also meeting several specialist contractors. We’re still hoping that the defects get sorted out by the end of this coming week so that our main renovation can begin proper; but even if not, we’re happy to wait for the defect rectification team to do a proper job (i.e. not accidentally introduce more defects!) than for them to rush through it.<\/p>\n

We were surprised to see that there were workers still going about it over both days of the weekend too. Seems that with such a large number of units in the project, the developer has got a number of workers to do overtime now.<\/p>\n

From the general look of it, I suspect nearly all of our listed defects will be rectified in a first pass indeed by the end of week 3, but a couple will remain outstanding. Specifically, we heard that there is a shortage of marble tiles – one of our tiles in the master bedroom is chipped and requiring replacement – and part of one number in our door signage is still missing. Good luck to the team trying to find a replacement for that one LOL.<\/p>\n

Two of our living room homogenous tiles had long and wide visible scratches on them. A worker is outlining the edges of both tiles in preparation for them to be chiseled away.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The kitchen tiles that were previously chipped, then removed, have been replaced too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

And the following day, gaps had been filled with plaster.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The skirting in the kitchen which were also chipped were also removed and replaced. The wall edge lining it has yet to be made good though.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Found a new defect too. The wire gauze in our cooker hood was not properly fastened using a metal retaining bracket. Not a big issue, but annoying nonetheless. Marked it out as a defect too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
