So, a week ago we picked up two pieces of wood from Nature Aquarium at Balestier for $3 each. One\u2019s horizontal, and is also the picture used in the banner for this blog:<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image104\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2006-Aquarium-PICT1269-wood.jpg\" alt=\"2006-Aquarium-PICT1269-wood.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The other is a vertial stump:<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image105\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2006-Aquarium-PICT1275-wood.jpg\" alt=\"2006-Aquarium-PICT1275-wood.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>If you take a close look at this one, you\u2019d see that the right side of the stump actually looks like a face:there are two distinct indentations for eyes, a pointed nose, a huge yawning moth, and \u2018it\u2019 looks like it\u2019s wearing a crown too.:)<\/p>\n<p>I had both of these two wood pieces soaked in rainwater for a week to leech out the tannic acids, and finally got to place them into the tank just now. Ling is interested in tying a bit of moss on one of the two wood pieces, so we\u2019ll be looking for a bit of that soon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bogwood do make a lovely addition to any tank.
