Another recent conversation with Hannah, and on last Friday just before Mother’s Day.<\/p>\n

H<\/strong>: Mommy, mommy, I\u2019m going to give you a surprise tomorrow!
\nM<\/strong>: Really?! That\u2019s nice, sweetie.
\nH<\/strong>: The paint is still not dry. Tomorrow it will dry ok!
\nM<\/strong>: Hmmmm\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026
\nH<\/strong>: It\u2019s a Mother\u2019s Day card I made in school, you know.
\nM<\/strong>: Oh.
\nH<\/strong>: It\u2019s going to be a surprise ok; I will give you a card and there is a ribbon on it! *beaming to herself*
\nM<\/strong>: Hannah, you shouldn\u2019t tell mommy about the surprise if you want it to be a surprise.
\nH<\/strong>: And there are 2 hearts on the card, you know. Teacher said must use two hands to give you the card!
\nD<\/strong>: What about daddy?
\nH<\/strong>: Father\u2019s Day is many days later but I\u2019m going to give you a toilet roll ok! It\u2019s going to be a surprise too!
\nD<\/strong>: I’m getting a toilet roll…?!<\/p>\n

Time for us soon also to change the title of this blog series to “Conversations with a Four Year Old” too!<\/p>\n
