Hannah had been coughing a little for a week now (and incidentally also spreading it to Daddy), but this mild illness took a turn for the worse on Tuesday. At her nanny’s, she vomited after two mouthfuls of lunch, and again in the evening when we got back home. Her body temperature was at a very high 40.5 degree celsius, and that got us very worried. So we dashed off to our family doctor at Rivervale Mall. And here’s the funniest thing; our girl was just as chirpy, and ‘helpful’ as ever on the drive to the clinic.<\/p>\n
“Daddy you must drive slowly or you will hit the car in front and the car will spoil and you will have no car!”<\/p>\n
There weren’t many patients in the queue at the clinic, though we still waited for nearly 90 minutes on account that each patient consultation was taking a while. The two girls went in when it was Hannah’s turn while I waited anxiously outside. 15 minutes later, the two stepped out, with Hannah looking her usual happy self. I asked Ling what the diagnosis was.<\/p>\n
Ling: “Doctor said it’s likely gastric flu. Her tummy’s bloated. Hannah got three medicine doses.”<\/p>\n
Me: “Wow. Three? I didn’t hear any screaming or hollering from outside.”<\/p>\n
Ling: “It wasn’t taken via her mouth.”<\/p>\n
Me: “Really?! Injections? That’s even more amazing she didn’t cry.”<\/p>\n
Ling: “Er… the medicine was administered using the *other* entrance.”<\/p>\n
Me: “?!? What other entrance??”<\/p>\n
But after a while, I finally got it and could only say this:<\/p>\n
“Ah.”<\/p>\n
Ling only chuckled in response LOL.<\/p>\n
Sometimes knowing less is better! Ling took the next day off to take care of our girl, and thankfully, her temperature has mostly subsided.:)<\/p>\n
