For dinner this evening, she quipped that she needed extra-spicy food to help mask those inclinations to vomit. So, she asked for Thai food.<\/p>\n<p>As it happens, there\u2019s a delightful little Thai stall situated at a coffee shop near my workplace. We\u2019ve checked out the place before for dine-in lunches and takeout dinners already, and the fare is decent. This time round though, the wife and I had a massive miscommunication about what we both wanted, and she ended up ordering food enough for four adults when it\u2019s just 2 1\/4 adults between the three of us, at most.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17991\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17991\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17991\" title=\"2012-hannah-20121116_180017-thai-dinner\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/2012-hannah-20121116_180017-thai-dinner1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/2012-hannah-20121116_180017-thai-dinner1.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/2012-hannah-20121116_180017-thai-dinner1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17991\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Where&#8217;s Matt to help us eat all this food? There&#8217;s beef noodles, green curry, olive fried rice, Thai fish cake, tom yam soup, white rice, and a plate of fish cakes!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Half an hour of struggle later and while I was driving back, I wheezed:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019m going to ever want to touch Thai food again for a month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ling went:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cI feel so bloated I\u2019m going to merlion. Where\u2019s the plastic bag\u2026?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Upon which Hannah chimed in and declared:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cDinner was very good.
