{"id":162,"date":"2007-03-26T09:37:15","date_gmt":"2007-03-26T01:37:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/?p=162"},"modified":"2007-03-26T09:37:15","modified_gmt":"2007-03-26T01:37:15","slug":"the-discerner-of-the-thoughts-and-intents-of-the-heart%e2%80%a6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/2007\/03\/26\/the-discerner-of-the-thoughts-and-intents-of-the-heart%e2%80%a6\/","title":{"rendered":"The discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image244\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-Rivervale-PICT3199-water-jasmine.jpg\" alt=\"2007-Rivervale-PICT3199-water-jasmine.jpg\" align=\"right\" \/>As I was pondering over a quiet time passage dated 24th March from <a title=\"'My utmost for His highest'\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myutmost.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018My utmost for His highest\u2019<\/a> by Oswald Chambers, God\u2019s word came to me regarding a nagging issue which I had been struggling with.<\/p>\n<p>I guess I didn\u2019t really have to grapple with self-worth until quite recently. I can\u2019t say whether I can now better emphatise with those who have this self-worth difficulty but I know it is terrible to feel inferior to other persons. I think I had allowed myself to make comparisons &#8211; a silly thing to do really, but the subconsciousness kept telling.<\/p>\n<p>God came into my mind and reminded me a few things He mentioned in His Word before. These things are: \u201cYou are sufficient in Christ\u201d, \u201cHis strength is made perfect in my weakness\u201d &amp; \u201cHe gives me His wisdom\u201d. Upon further pondering, I realised that my place in life is to be thankful to God for the way I am (because He had made me so) and whatever inadequacies I have God made it that way so that His goodness can manifest through my life &#8211; that all men may see and be drawn to Him and bring Him praise and glory.<\/p>\n<p>If the foolishness of God is wiser than men\u2019s wisdom, I should give up the struggle to improve my own self-worth.
