Earlier on our first evening in Kyoto, we spotted an interesting looking natural food buffet, so decided to do the very Singaporean thing – take up its offer of ‘eat all you can’!

Unlike local buffets though, this one comes with limitations; you’re only allowed 90 minutes to do what damage you can to your body. I guess that’s a pretty smart move; because if you tried running buffets without time limits in Singapore, you’re gonna see hordes of seat and table hogging secondary school students descending into your restaurant armed with their textbooks and to pretend-study LOL.

The Harvest Natural Foods Buffet restaurant is located at the basement level of Porta, the Kyoto Station underground shopping center, and near the North/South Through Passage to Kyoto Station. Buffet price is 1,993円, and 208円 less if you go without beverages and just water. Some of the really great items in the spread included a very specially soft yoghurt like mango pudding (the both of us loved this!), potato salad, mushroom salad, very lean pork, and sweet potato in parsley. Ling rarely stuffs herself, but this time she did at this restaurant.:)

Heaps of food.

Ling returning for seconds... and later, thirds, then fourths, and fifths - believe it or not!

The sign "All you can eat" is intimately familiar to all Singaporeans.

Ling approves!

All good, if just a little pricey.
