The funny thing though is that the most painful thing about plantar fasciitis is caused by the muscle inflammation – it’s the cost of treatment!<\/p>\n
But more on that later. For the last 18 months now, I’ve been experiencing excruciating pain towards the back of my left foot. I’m not positively certain what caused it, but I suspect it was the haphazard stepping on uneven surfaces at home, e.g. those power extension board cables that’s common in homes here. It’s reached a point where I have to consciously shift my body weight to the right foot when I walk.<\/p>\n
After a lot of the usual procrastination, I got round to making an appointment to see a podiatrist at Changi General Hospital. Long wait for an available appointment slot on this week Tuesday too.\u00a0 The diagnosis was a lot more comprehensive than what I received last year at the Singapore Footcare Center @ AMK Hub.<\/p>\n
Here’s the clunker: the healing of the inflammation will take months, but to expedite the process, a special insole that required a cast of my feet had to be made. The cost of the insole itself was $260 – ouch – with additional fees for the consultation etc.The visitation fees totaled to about $320.<\/p>\n
Still – I’m thankful that no injections were involved in the treatment. To avoid that, I would have gladly paid several hundred dollars!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
