The sighting of terrace padi fields is one the highlights during our stay in Bali. It was something which I learnt about in secondary two Geography lessons but never get to see it in real life.<\/p>\n<p>Walking along the padi fields and watching how the irrigation of the fields was done was an enriching experience &#8211; ok lah, call me &#8216;suah ku&#8217; (mountain tortoise)&#8230;how the water cascaded down from one level to the next&#8230;very soothing and therapeutic. One can also see the footprints of farmers left in the mud of the padi fields&#8230;evidence of their hard work in the sun and rain. &#8216;Planting rice is never fun, work from morn to set of sun. Cannot stand and cannot sit, cannot rest for a little bit.&#8217; &#8211; a childhood song which I used to sing during music lessons in primary school. :)<\/p>\n<p>OK; now we&#8217;re definitely off! :)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1118\" title=\"blog-2008-bali-dsc_5411-gunungkawiroyalmonuments\" src=\"https:\/\/chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/blog-2008-bali-dsc_5411-gunungkawiroyalmonuments.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Got time for another post after Yang&#8217;s just finished his.
