All totaled in, it\u2019s a whopping 81 GB of static and moving imagery to process!<\/p>\n<p>Unlike last December\u2019s Kumamoto trip though, I didn\u2019t try creating nearly as many HDR compositions this time. Instead, I did a huge number of panorama compositions \u2013 all 106 of them \u2013 each comprising between 2 to 11 images. Some of them turned out great, others not so from a host of problems, including gloomy weather, bad lighting, inability of CS4 to process them, and most commonly, too much lens distortion.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll be blogging about these panoramas in a series of compositions starting with the first: a view of the Boston skyline from Charles River. Several of these were taken from MIT\u2019s side of the river, and others along either Harvard or Longfellow bridges.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a picture showing the general perspective from MIT:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"pana-map01\" border=\"0\" alt=\"pana-map01\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chekyang.com\/musings\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/panamap01.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first panorama below was composed in really gloomy weather, despite it being mid-morning. Both were taken in the early afternoon from Harvard bridge.
